sculptural and textural. shadows become a part of the artwork as the light changes throughout the day. 75 pieces of natural, raw canvas adhered to an oil painting, each distinctly its own, each imperfect and innately poetic. (some are missing, and we still see their shadows.) each has a story, each a past. a found beauty in impermanence, imperfection, and the incomplete. embracing the natural cycle of growth and decay, and celebrating the rustic, understated aspects of life. the aim of this installation-like painting is to appreciate the flawed, weathered, aged and recognize that these imperfections add character and depth to us all.
